Outdoor program in a Siemens washing machine

Outdoor program in a Siemens washing machineSome washing machines of imported origin are adapted for use by a Russian-speaking user before being released onto the Russian market: all inscriptions on the control panel are translated into Russian. Washing machines from the German manufacturer Siemens, assembled for Europe, do not undergo this procedure, so the names of some modes and functions remain a mystery to the user. For example, what is the Outdoor mode for in a Siemens washing machine?

Purpose and features of the Outdoor mode

If you look at the user manual, you can easily find the translation of the name and purpose of this mode. In fact, this word could be translated into Russian as “Impregnation”, and the mode, accordingly, is intended either for sportswear with water-repellent impregnation or for waterproof outerwear. To wash using this program, you need a special liquid detergent, which is poured into the main compartment of the tray. When washing in this mode, the drum is loaded only half of the maximum load.do not fill the drum with laundry

The Outdoor mode is medium in duration, and its exact duration is determined by the Siemens CM model and the user’s settings. By default, washing is done at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. Rinsing is carried out in a large amount of water; during washing, the drum rotates and then stops for a while. Spin is either completely disabled or available at low speeds.

Attention! Even if your washing machine provides automatic drying, waterproof items are dried only in natural conditions, so you will not be able to use the drying function or tumble dryer.

Features of caring for impregnated clothing

Impregnated sportswear is otherwise called “breathable”, since the membrane fabric from which it is made has a porous structure. This type of fabric allows sweat to escape freely without creating a greenhouse effect inside. This material is quite finicky, so you need to know a few things about its care, for example:

  • temperature regime;
  • possibility of automatic washing;
  • possibility of ironing.

So, you can wash impregnated fabric in a machine, but very carefully, with plenty of water and at a low temperature (30-40 degrees). Spinning is contraindicated. Chlorine-containing and bleaching agents must not be used! Dry cleaning with special reagents is acceptable.membrane washing

As for drying, using a drying machine is, in principle, acceptable if you reduce the drying time and set the minimum temperature, but washing machine tumble drying strictly contraindicated.

Such fabric also needs to be ironed carefully, at a temperature not exceeding 110 degrees, using a fabric pad and without using steam.

Caring for sports items should be careful at all stages. If there is no serious contamination, you can get by with soapy water and a soft brush to remove the stains. Afterwards, just hang the product on a hanger and dry it in that position.

If you still use SM for washing, do not put other outerwear along with the soaked items in order to avoid damage. Preliminary preparation:

  • take out all the contents of the pockets;
  • remove fur elements;
  • fasten the zippers and buttons.

Why are the usual washing actions unacceptable? For example, regular laundry detergent never dissolves completely, and the remaining particles clog the pores of the fabric. Products containing chlorine destroy the structure of the fabric.Spinning leads to deformation and tearing of the material. Using a hot iron and washing in hot water causes the pores to stick together.

How to wash impregnated clothes?

We have already mentioned a special detergent for sportswear, since ordinary powder will not work. Experts recommend several gels.

  1. Nikwax Tech Wash. Can be used both for regular washing of membrane fabric and for removing individual stains in concentrated form.membrane products
  2. Granger's 30˚C Cleaner. At a temperature of 30 degrees it can wash off even the most difficult stains.
  3. Perwolle Sport Active 3D. An excellent product without phosphates.
  4. Granger's Universal Spray Cleaner. The spray is sprayed onto contaminated areas from a distance of 10-15 cm. Next, you just need to wipe the fabric with a rag.

When choosing a gel, give preference to high-quality formulations from trusted companies. There must be an indication of the possibility of use for impregnated clothing.
